Where's the Complutense University of Madrid located?

The faculties of this institution are divided into two different campuses:

Moncloa Campus

It houses most of the UCM facilities. It is located northwest of the centre of Madrid, in Ciudad Universitaria, next to the Chamberí and Casa de Campo districts. Here you will find the faculties of:

Best neighbourhoods to live in near the Complutense University of Madrid

The best area to live in depends on which of the two campuses you are going to. The following are some neighbourhoods preferred by young people to live near the Complutense University of Madrid:

University City

This neighbourhood is ideal if you are going to the Moncloa Campus since it is located right there. It is full of restaurants with affordable prices for students. Likewise, there are numerous places to do sports and markets with discounts for young people.

Chamberí

From here you can reach the Moncloa Campus in approximately 20/30 minutes on foot. In addition, it has many bars, restaurants and nightclubs, as well as entertainment venues and affordable shops for students.

Pozuelo Center

This neighbourhood tends to have more affordable rental prices compared to accommodation located in the centre of Madrid. Here you will be closer to the Somosaguas Campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, and you can reach the centre of Madrid in approximately 30 minutes by train.

Somosaguas Centro

From here you will arrive in about 10 minutes by public transport (30 by foot) to the Somosaguas Campus of the UCM. Of course, this area is much quieter than those mentioned above, so the most common thing is that you have to go to the centre of Madrid to carry out different activities.

This institution has five Halls of Residence in which you can apply for a place. They are all very close to the Moncloa Campus of the university. These are CM Antonio de Nebrija, CM Diego de Covarrubias, CM Santa María de Europa, CM Teresa de Jesús and CM Ximénez de Cisneros. Erasmus in the Complutense University of Madrid

Some considerations that you have to take into account:

• If Spanish is not your native language, you will have to file a language certificate according to the faculty (at least a B1). Most of the classes are taught in Spanish, so it is necessary to know the language.

• “Going for tapas” in Madrid generally consists of going to a bar and ordering a beer, or another drink, with which they bring a tapa for free. Then go to another nearby bar and do the same. And so on, until going to a nightclub or until the night is over. It is the best way to enjoy Madrid’s nightlife!
